New approaches to peace in the 21st century: Steven pinker: we are living in the most peaceful time in human history . The last 20 years have seen a gradual decline in the number and severity of internal armed conflicts worldwide. Predication: this is a global trend that will continue for the next 40-90 years. The bulk of the world"s civil armed conflict in the next 50 years will be concentrated in africa and south asia. By 2050, civil armed conflict will become a thing of the past in high- income nations. The other side of the argument: futures series 2015: British ngo, brings together 60 people from 20 countries to discuss the future of global conflict. Yes, the number of frequency of civil wars is declining, but: Devastating effects are more persistent and profitable than ever. The line between peace and conflict is increasingly blurred . Violent conflict has become and is less predictable in modern society.
