Proximity: when we see something in front of us it matter, yet when it"s on the other side of the world we don"t care. Maiese, causes of disputes and conflicts reading. Moral conflict: moral, religious, political, personal views, different world views, parties have strongly different views (e. g. abortion pro-life vs pro-choice, incompatible views about how to balance intractable, source of social, national & international conflict. Unmeet human needs: if people don"t have basic resources they will go to war, food, water, shelter, safety. Identity issues: groups of people that believe they are different, the idea of others and enemies , nationality, ethnicity, race, nationalism, colonialism. High-stake distributional issues: taxes, class, social status, distribution of money and resources, 1% that make all the money and 99% get poorer and poorer.
