Philos 2h03 lecture jan 31 2017. Four moments of judgements of taste: moments are like a vector, they are the vectors in a judgement of beauty. Four moments in total: any judgement of beauty will be: Disinterest: disinterested does not mean uninterested. Liking of the thing is free of prejudice. Anyone would like it: to have an interest in something is liking connected with presentation of objects existence, when there is an interest, has to be more than appearance. More than appearance is at stake, real existence. Interest is interested in existence: disinterested liking: objective existence does not matter, only feelings matter, blue has no existence outside of our perception. Kant beauty in a dream is still beauty: real objective existence does not matter, when judging beauty, judging appearance not reality, mental affection. Love of beautiful bodies draws us closer to good plato. Kant beauty and goodness are separate: forced on kant due to his belief of disinterest in taste.
