There is no continuity between opinion and belief. People with opinion believe justice and beauty are things. People with knowledge know justice and beauty are pure things; not on the same level as qualities that show each other in the physical world. Thought and science lie halfway between opinion and philosophy. No science can explain its own rst principles; instead uses principles as basis for the science. Inquiry that systematically attempts to grasp with respect to each thing itself what the being of it is, that is, the idea. Overcomes everything hypothetical in through and leads to presupposition less knowledge. Method of eliciting the truth by means of questioning. There are no assumptions or hypotheses in socrates" knowledge. Their entire world is the cave; it is all they can see with a giant. Masters walk by between re and slaves with cutouts of trees, dogs etc. that create shadows on the walls. For the slaves, their reality is these shadows.
