Materialism- if something has to be real it has to be a matter or physical, a broad way of how. Rights of nature- the liberty each person has to use her own power for the preservation of her own life (like self defence) Law of nature- a general rule, found out by reason =, which forbids a person to do anything destructive of her life, he thinks something problematic, human beings have the right to protect themselves. Commonwealth- a political community of subjects who have invested some of their rights into a leader or leaders who thus have control over them, in order to enjoy the bene ts of enduring peace. If you want to understand philosophy you need to understand the past.
