A human being is by nature a political animal . Sp philosophy is a discipline concerned with the best way of arranging our collective lives. Sp philosophy is concerned with what ought to be the case: it is concerned with the best way to arrange our collective lives. But this is problematic: maybe there isn"t a best way, only opinions about it. There are no independent standards by which we can evaluate. It can explain the widespread disagreement over moral and social practise. It seems to promote an attitude of respect and tolerance for other cultures.
