What we see is an inch-large dot in the sky, it really is a ball of gas, 1. 4 million km. Russell: we start with sense-data sun (small sun) and go to the real size sun through reason and science. Independence of perception: exists when nobody is looking. Public, neutral: other people can interact with it in similar ways to myself.
