It is tough as critical thinkers to navigate these routes of reasoning and see which are fallacious and those that are not. A strategy that seeks to persuade you to adopt the truth of a claim on its alleged newness. Simply because something is novel does not entail that it is better, and is irrelevant as to whether or not it is true: argumentum ad populum: Plays on the group conformity and false consensus bias by arguing for the acceptance of some claim based on the quantity or quality of people allegedly accepting it. Bandwagon : a large number of people allegedly hold some belief everyone knows that! . Snobbery: a number of people belonging to an identifiable group are alleged to collectively hold some belief if you"re one of us . Vanity: acceptance of a claim because beautiful people advocate for it virtually any ad ever .
