Thinking critically, is the best way to make moral decisions in an autonomous manner: we are thinking critically when we apply the correct rules of thinking, able to evaluate beliefs and arguments systematically. The rules to follow are the rational standards, to which one needs to conform. For arguments to be adequate, they must fulfill two conditions: beliefs that make up premises must be adequate, facts encoded in beliefs must be correct and connected. In this class, will assume that the inferences drawn are correct. The focus of this course, is if the information you have is correct. To figure out if information is correct, must look at where the beliefs come from. Make sure you"re looking at sources that are authoritative.
