Moral dilemmas arise when there are moral reasons for accepting contrary positions. Yes: women have a right to control their own bodies. No: it is wrong to take a human life. Some situations are recognized as have competing moral standings moral dilemmas. Philosophical approaches to moral dilemmas analysis of the arguments appeal to general ethical theories. General ethical theories studying general ethical theories helps clarify key bioethical concepts. Many of our judgments can be justified empirically but not ethical judgments because there is nothing you can see or prove really. Moral plain is appealing to a moral principle judgment for example abortion is wrong because we should never take a human life hence never take a human life = principle abortion is wrong = judgment. Another way of rejecting this is by finding a opposing principle. So you can reject the principle that you should never take a human life.
