Early term abortions were common across eu until 1800s. Social acceptability: memorialized in art pennyroyal tea (abortive herb, william blackstone as soon as infants are able to stir in the womb (kicking) it is protected, not before, blanket ban. Moral shift in culture led to widespread of hoards of abortion. Later: 1969 allow abortions in case of life threatening pregnancies. Private clinics opened up: doctor death: henry morgentaler open defiance of the law. Supreme court struck down canadas abortion law and accepted his argument: bill c43: abortion criminalized again, but gov couldn"t get replacement law to pass. 1989: more women enlightened and this was a threat to them. Panel of doctors all have to agree doesn"t work: another law introduced where only 1 doctor needs to agree doesn"t pass, now it isn"t criminalized. Two most popular ways about thinking and arguing for and against abortion and also why dealing with abortion in these ways is foolish: pro-life.
