People of this age discovered that every continent has its own biology. The world became bigger and stranger when shipping shrunk the distances and made the foreign greatly closer. This resulted in a new classification that needed to be made. Due to species becoming extinct, anomalies, useless appendixes, viruses. A catholic, pious capital was reduced to ruble with 15000 fatalities. The disaster occurred at a crucial moment of the debate of god. In the middle of the century of enlightenment, this was evidence that the perfect design is crude and does not look like the act of a perfect and omnipotent god. A few were attracted to the idea that it was deserved: they brought it about themselves due to their defiance of god"s law. This idea could no longer be sold even among the religious: the event was too meaningless and cruel. It was seen as barbaric to think that god could be so vicious.
