Constitution: provides the fundamental rules and principles that govern a country. It creates many of the institutions and branches of government, and defines their powers. The constitution of canada includes the constitution act of 1967 and the constitution act of. In canada, the constitution sets out the basic principles of the democratic government and defines the powers if the 3 branches of government: executive, legislative, and judiciary. Minimal sense: the way in which a legal system is constructed, how its powers are arranged, and its specific subject matter. Rich sense: not only is there some discernible form of government structure, but there are norms established within that structure which establish explicit limits on the terms of government power. Substantive limitations: requirements regarding the content of our legal norms.
