Moion is caused by the forces which act on an object. The model that we will explore in this module was masterminded by none other than sir. Isaac newton: not only referring to liting boxes or sliding blocks down ramps; any moion that we see can be modeled using these few rules. They ofer insights into natural phenomena: the structure and funcion of organisms, even human nature. To develop the concept that interacions between objects are expressed as forces. To idenify a number of common forces and understand how they can be quaniied. To associate the acceleraion of an object with the sum of all forces acing the object. To become familiar with the fundamental rules by which forces are connected to moion. To develop a systemaic approach to solving force problems, including the use of free- body diagrams. Forces oten occur via contact (fricion) some forces can occur even without contact (gravity)
