The person that takes a look at his own era and demolishes intellectually. Nietzsche was looking at the 19th century and saying everything was over. Idea of the end of history has been around for a long time. If we assume that we are the product of the 20th century, we should see its traces in ourselves. Are there values so true that we can enforce them. Millennials didn t ruin anything, nietzsche did it before you could. Enlightenment: truths can be identified through science and science can perfect the human character. But: this assumes a physical world and an ideal world just along the horizon, aided by science. Beginning of 19th century: end to political philosophy declared. Only to tinker with minor analytic issues, explain philosophical problems. But: we still talk about justice, beauty, and humanity. You don t just see beauty standing there waiting for justice to go for lunch.
