Leadership does not lie within one person but relationships between individuals and others or groups. 3 factors associated with leadership: context - different type of leadership competencies leaders are using depends on the different contexts or competencies needed. Providing support, quality control, enabling the flow of ideas, providing constructive feedback, goal-setting, motivating. It is not a trait, characteristic or skill, but a process in using such skills to engage others . A process by which an individual helps others seek their collective goals. Research can be research and measured as it is a process. Leadership can be considered in different ways and for different outcomes. It can be replicated - also because it is a process - within and in other organizations and contexts. Transactional leadership - sharing a common goal - doing what is expected will be rewarded. Transformative leadership - the approach and understanding of goals is integral.
