In canada, women who work full time have average earnings that are only 74. 2% that of men who work full time- 28% gender wage gap. Hourly wages- women make 13% less, 8% taking account other factors contributing to the wage gap. Females make 12% less than male colleagues even with the same qualifications. In 2018 only 27% of the elected members of the canadian house of commons are women (91) Ndp- 50% of their candidates will be women. Worldwide average for women in politics is 23. 9% There has never been a female president in the united states. Gender assumptions and misogynist discourse distorting the perception of women in politics. Disadvantageous representation in the media- hillary clinton. Even in cases where women earn a place at the table, they experience substantial amounts of misogyny, sexual harassment and are forced to encounter the sexist mindset of the male-oriented model of poltiics.
