Document Summary
Extension/continuation from last week: depending where you"re from, your understanding of what it means to be canadian will vary, provincial citizenship (like the post sovereign and federal citizenship models shown last week, within the canadian context, each province has different understandings of canadian values, quebec resistance opens a space for more provincial resistances, by challenging the federal government they are providing space for other provinces to make similar claims, space for negotiation emerges, maybe only the quebec government that thinks their citizens will be on their side (other provinces think differently except for a few situations, like albertans siding with their provincial government when it comes to their oil revenue, provinces begin to push back against the federal government in instances where, for example, the federal government gives grants to start social programs as long as the province obliges to their conditions.
