How we should live (the right/just way) Central question: what is the right way to live? . Greece was not a country at the time. City-states greece was made up of many cities. Influenced by socrates critical importance of virtue and human life. Virtue led to a happy life according to socrates. Socrates was very illusive, lover of truth. Plato: there is a right way to live for any and every human + there are also wrong ways to live which is everything that is not the right way . Justice is something that is good for us (not just a condition for a functional society, it is the virtue of the soul) For a human to be happy, they must be just. Two basic questions: what is justice, how to be just. Cephalus describes what justice is and the importance of being just (cares about justice because of self-interest/worried about consequences of injustice)
