Chronology pre-2015 election campaign: may 2011 - march 2012 - conservatives led; ndp didn"t make much headway or inroads because after jack. It is highly unusual that a 3rd place party (when the election was called) would become gov"t as occurred in the 2015 election. Once all 3 leaders were ahead after april 14th, liberals were ahead - check the pattern in the public opinion polls after all 3 leaders are selected. In the us, if people spend a lot during the christmas season it is a sign of satisfaction with the gov"t. Also unusual about the 2015 election was its length, it was the longest in history. Conservatives tend to have a strong base with few people leaving, but they have a hard time getting people to come into their party. Valence issue - all major parties agree with the same issue - like creating more jobs. These issues don"t have much chance to change or affect an election.
