Open to experience: not a narrow focus like b-cognition of maslow. No fear or defensiveness: absence of defense mechanisms. Stimuli processed without distortion: accurate assessment and understanding of what is going on including our own feelings, thoughts and emotions. Existential mode of living: aliveness and richness, being actively and fully involve in the present moment. Knowing who you are is incredibly important. Begin with a set of cards on which a set of statements is typed. Example: i enjoy the company of others, i am intelligent, i often feel statements about views of yourself humiliated take 100 cards and sort them into 9 piles from most to least accurate in describing yourself. An put a particular number of cards in each category. Essentially describing yourself as you see yourself: self-sort. At the beginning of therapy there is a very low correlation. Correlation as we move across therapy, they become more similar, correlation gets higher.
