Cramming: adrenaline fueled attempt to learn all content at once. Inefficient: works for short term, but not long term memory. Where to study: not in a busy study environment, no multi-tasking (ex. Facebook + studying = no: find a quiet place, put phone on silent/out of site, temporarily distracting websites, keep snacks around. Pomodoro technique: set timer for ~25 minutes, completely block out all distractions and focus on task for all 25 minutes, take 5-minute break, repeat a few times then take a 30-minute break. When should you be studying: pa(cid:272)e out stud(cid:455)i(cid:374)g, do(cid:374)"t (cid:272)ra(cid:373) How should you be studying: repeated exposure = ineffective, practice testing = more effective, retrieval practice effect active memory search, combine retrieval practice with spacing = most learning in least amount of time. 3 x 3 learning method = least total amount of time studying, most information retained. Mixed practice > blocked practice: mix similar types of questions.
