Over jus ca on e ect - occurs when individuals are rewarded for a behaviour that previously has intrinsic value, and now only has extrinsic value once it has been reinforced. The ar st once found intrinsic value in pain ng; however, once he was rewarded for his work, it gained extrinsic value. Once the rewards ceased, he was no longer mo vated to work.
