Document Summary
When coping with challenges in life becomes difficult. A big challenge in life can make it hard to think about anything else, and it can make it hard to think of anything else, Daily tasks like eating and sleeping can be hard and when the situation resolves it will be easy to move and function again. When you cannot move on from this and it consumes your life, it can become a psychological disorder. Clinicians use the four d"s to broadly define abnormality. What it means to abnormal can vary between people, cultures, and time periods, and this makes it hard to define and describe. These criteria are used as a guideline and exhibiting one or more of these characteristics does not necessarily label someone with a psychological disorder: deviance refers to atypical thoughts and behaviours. Refers to having thoughts, emotions and behaviours that fall far outside standards of what others are doing.
