Social media provides an easy outlet for passing on misinformation: ex. every time u sneeze your heart stops until u breath again. Some of the things you know to be true about psychology are wrong. Psychology is not just common sense with academic terminology. Cognitive dissonance is a counterintuitive finding with profound implications. The sunk cost trap: unrecoverable investments of resources leading to further investment. Ex. go to a movie, buy a ticket, movie is boring but you chose to stay and invest more time and money because you want to protect the idea that you are cutting losses.
