Our visual system is not like a camera. Human biased to assume world is experienced the same. Vision is perceiving electromagnetic energy: visual spectrum is just part of a continuum, we just perceive infrared as heat but some species (snake) can see in infrared. Advantages: even in low lamination settings may still see prey while other predators cannot. Humans can imitate this by using infrared goggles. Note: after several time of stimulus in infrared probably adaptation. Bright red food easier to see against green background foraging hypothesis. Marmosets can be dichromatic or trichromatic and we can compare their foraging ability in the same species. Placed into open field and cereal kix died orange was spread out throughout grass field and question was whether trichromatic marmosets had an advantage. Women with higher estrogen count look more attractive= more colourful. Generally most subjects added more red to make faces more attractive=more estrogen=higher fertility.
