Cr to a fear can be measured through: galvanic skin response in humans, freezing behavior in animals. Generalization and extinction: training cs in the absence of us, largest loss is in the strength of the original cs. Phobia: an exaggerated, intense and persistent fear of certain situations, activities, things or people: can be caused by the presence of absence of a traumatic event. Implosive therapy: an individual with a particular phobia is encouraged to confront the fear cs that evokes anxiety, cs presented in absence of us, can be traumatic. Systematic desensitization: starts at far ends of generalization spectrum and works towards the middle. Germ phobia confronted by confetti on hands first then gradually works up to being covered in dirt: more accessible method. Therapies utilizing classical conditioning can be applied beyond the scope of phobias. Homeostasis: actively keeping a core temperature, glucose and ion levels and numerous other processes within strict parameters.
