Articles written by journalists or professional writers (may or may not have specific qualifications for writing on a specific topic) Language that is easily understood by a general audience. Contain many separate articles written by or for faculty, researchers or other scholars. Language is scholarly or technical and articles tend to be fairly dense and are concerned with research in the specific topic area. Full citations for sources are provided and articles are refereed or peer reviewed. Peer review a process in which editors and other experts in a field review and evaluate an article before it is accepted for publication. Gruelling process =-authors scientific method ay be put to question and changes to the transcript may be required. Best mechanism for obtaining a high standard of quality and for guarding against scientific fraud or unwarranted claims.
