Gestalt psychologists believe that the human experience should not be reduced into its elements, but rather whole. law of pragnanz: gestalt psychologists argued that we have a bias to organize things into the simplest organization. 6 gestalt principles: laws the that describe how we organize visual input: gure ground. An object will be perceived as separate from its background. We organize the information as the central object of identi cation, while other objects fade into the background: proximity. Things that are spatially closer together will be perceived as being members of the same group: closure. When we see an incomplete object, our brain lls in the gaps: similarity. Things that share visual characteristics such as share, size, colour, texture or value, will per perceived as belonging together ex white roses and white lilies are grouped separately from red roses and red lilies: continuity.
