Document Summary

Activation of neural receptors begins process of translating light energy into nerve impulses that are interpreted by the brain. Light photoreceptor photo-activation neural activity awareness. Problems: all images on retina end up being upside down and backwards. Brain is capable of adapting because of plasticity. *your brain makes assumptions and fills in the blanks. Perception fills in the void of unattended and missing information. We have a blind spot on our retina. The blind spot is filled in by the context of our environment (so its not a black spot) The brain assumes that there is a single light source illuminating a scene.
