Iqs have been raising over the years (107 in canada vs. 100 in usa) Test-retest reliability r"s = . 65 to . 80 (iq highly correlated at 7yo when you"re 13, 18, etc) iq as stable trade but if it"s inconsistent not reliable. Highly accurate between time 1 and time 2. Stability increases with increasing age (correlation between time 1 and 2 higher during adulthood vs. childhood). As we get older, we have access to certain types of exp due to our autonomy and reflect our iq better and more accurately. But large fluctuations do happen (eg. new zealand long study) their iqs were measured at 7yo and then tested eery 2 years. 10% of ppl have changed with sd of 15 points at any time period. Usually if iq had gone down then situation worsened (eg. emotional blow, financial, school change) and can rebounce back to normal. Can bounce up due to positive changes (eg. more extracurricular, better finances, bigger house)
