Child who likes being read to will ask parents to read to them, and will be read to more. Child"s response will niche them to certain areas. Does development in one domain influence development in another. Being good at academics lets you finish homework early and be able to join extracurricular. Observational research- watching children in their natural environment. Naturalistic observation observer places self in child"s natural environment and watch what naturally unfolds. They have specific questions they want answers to. Haskett and kistner- how children abused and children not abused act in a daycare setting (pro-social behaviours v aggressive behaviours) Make note of which children display pro-social and which display aggressive. Look for specific outlined behaviours they determined beforehand. Interested in how children behave in emergency situation, can"t wait for emergency situation to occur. Kuczynski- how children follow instruction when they don"t think anyone is watching.
