Do(cid:374)"t work well on negative symptoms like anhedonia, speech: ect. 17% of ect patients receiving this have schizophrenia. Primarily for catatonia, where depression involved, and for those not responding to antipsychotics. Ineffective in chronic cases: helps develop new coping strategies. Strategies that help them get along in the world even with their symptoms. Helps you make social contact with people. People arou(cid:374)d (cid:455)ou k(cid:374)ow a(cid:271)out what (cid:455)ou"re e(cid:454)perie(cid:374)(cid:272)i(cid:374)g. Gives us a chance to practice social skills. Schizophrenic individuals have minimal social skills such as social withdrawal so it"s helpful for the(cid:373: family therapy. Family environment is v important support is everything. Allows for stability in order to help deal with the symptoms individual is experiencing.
