Take a history and make a diagnosis, then counsel mother on diagnosis, fully explaining all persons involved in care. 10 year old boy adrian presents with difficult behaviour. Mother says he seems quiet and not as playful as previous children. Not very social, and seems uninterested in school- but not disruptive or. Mother says he doesn"t seem to have many friends to play with- never had. Seems slightly cold- not great relationship between mother and son. Full vaccination schedule completed, normal vaginal birth at 38 weeks. Development history- anyone round to play, unlike siblings. Not very social, but major areas within range. Had many conversations with school about development. Doesn"t seem to thrive, even with smaller tuition. 2 brothers aged 9 and 11 who are quite close to eachother, but not so much to adrian- causing friction between mother and father. Initially thought to have adhd after gp consultation, but teacher says he is neither hyperactive nor inattentive.
