Anxiety disorder due to another medical condition. Excessive anxiety more days than not for 6 months or more, about several events or activities. Person nds it dif cult to control the worry. Accompanied by at least 3 of the following 6 symptoms, more days than not for the last 6 months: Dif culty falling or staying asleep, or restless sleep. Symptoms cause clinically signi cant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. Symptoms not due to the physiological effects of a substance . Symptoms not better explained by another mental disorder. Usually starts in 20s or 30s with high proportion in childhood or adolescence. Most common anxiety disorder among young, old. About 65% of those with disorder are female. Recurring, unexpected panic attacks involving a sudden urge of intense fear or discomfort during which at least 4 of the following symptoms occur:
