Psychological triad: what you feel, think and do. Personality: refers to an individuals characteristic pattern of thought, emotion and behaviour, together with the psychological mechanisms, - hidden or not - behind those patterns. Funder"s first law: advantages and disadvantages have a way of being so tightly interconnected as to be inseparable. Ex. peoples bad traits can sometimes lead them to react well in certain situations. Psychologists must be a little bit skeptical about the clues cause they may be misleading. Funder"s 2nd law: there are no perfect indicators of personality; there are only clues and clues are always ambiguous. Funder"s 3rd law: something beats nothing, two times out of three. S data: self report (self-judgements on a questionnaire) Limited behavioural information lack of access to private experience. Face validity: they are intended to measure, on their face. Self-veri cation: people work hard to bring others to treat them in a manner that con rms their self-conception.
