Lecture 24 comprised judgment on effects of rational thought. They compromised the judgment of their participants by making them a little intoxicated. Interpretations: suggests that when we don"t have the rational capacity to think, we give a more aggressive response, when we have rational thought available, we are able to use our judgment to lower our aggression revised frustration-aggression hypothesis: Frustrating experiences of all sorts probably lead to negative feelings (e. g. anger) & these negative feeling can lead to aggression: but negative feelings & aggression is not an all-for-nothing condition, there is a place for rational thought. Rational thought can interrupt the process between both: frustrating experiences to negative feelings or, negative feelings to aggression. Aka if you have been aggressive do you have to be frustrated first: associationist perspective. Based on the structure of information in long term memory.
