High level of external stress in the past year: often there can be a triggering factor. There are people who are just on the edge who are not ordinarily be abusive to other people but certain excessive stress can push them to be really mean. 29 stranger (our age ) much greater risk of becoming violent than adults. Spousal homicide (and spousal violence) much lower in older adults.
