Symptoms are displayed for at least six months. Cultural expectations need to be taken into account. Symptoms must occur in at least two different settings. One of the most commonly diagnosed developmental disorders. Parents and teachers often report that children who are inattentive: Children with adhd pay less attention than their peers. Adhd is very must a problem of control and self-regulation. Objective measures of hyperactivity can be measured using an actigraph. Little accelerometers that register quantitatively movement in different plants. Kids who are diagnosed with adhd tend to register much higher than a typically developing child. Motor restlessness is more likely to occur in situations that demand the children to sit still and regulate their behaviour. One study found that in kids with adhd, hyperactivity tends to increase in the afternoon. E. g. the child may often act without thinking, interrupts others, cuts in line, engages in dangerous behaviours, appears careless and irresponsible, immature, and rude.
