Why do we have to try so hard to not be prejudice. Racial lines are often the same as socio economic lines. The tensions between races are still very real. Published untested theories that turned out to be wright. Quoted old sayings and stories (racist: wax published a study where he sent out letters to resorts with different last names. Letters request accommodation for man and his family. Some were coming from a typical jewish name vs. a typical name. Signi cant decrease in acceptance of accommodation when jewish name. Even though the resorts were desperate for business at the time. Same but much more subtle: makes it harder to catch. Prejudice has become frowned upon and has therefore become more stealthy: we may not notice we"re doing it but the people it is happening to notice it. Stereotypes: unfair generalizations of members of a group. Not possible to talk about one without discussing the other two.
