Lecture 4- music theory and the vocal system. Lecture 4a- music theory: music theory (music perception) audition vocalization (production: singing, same processes and neural structure in speaking and singing, this lecture will focus on the pitch aspect of music, in other words tonality. Song (music+ language) will occur in language lectures. Body space (which can have high or low movement: there is an interaction between music and dance because of choreography and music. Language syntax(there are rules for the combination of language: the interaction is again song (music + lyrics) Text- music is poor at representing objects or concepts, unlike the (cid:498)narrative triad(cid:499: temporalizer- in real- time, to synchronize movement among dancers and musicians, transformer- of the emotional meaning of narratives, such as films, dance works, commercials, etc. Of mood by virtually all people: transpersonalizer- to increase cooperation, empathy, affiliation, group cohesion.
