Document Summary

The ability to remember a specific memory bound to a specific context. Remember a specific memory but cannot pin down the specific context in which you"ve experienced it. Amnesiacs cannot distinguish between item shown on day 1 three times and day 2 once. Some trials in block 3 would have different scenes. Eye movement changes with familiarity; there are fewer fixations. Eyes dart to manipulated portion of scene (relational manipulation) Strongest when people can"t say/aren"t aware of what"s happening. If amnesic syndrome selectively affects recollection/explicit memory; then they should show this implicit memory effect. Links between context (landscape) and item (face) Participants first get exposed to faceless screen for 3s. Particular faces are paired with particular scenes. Match: all 3 faces were seen before but only one of the 3 was the one paired with the particular scene previously from the study block. Re-pair: all 3 faces were seen before but none were paired with the particular scene shown.
