Document Summary
John the baptist and jesus in the gospel of luke. The perspectives of the gospels: mark - peter"s memoirs, matt - disciple of jesus. Authors are traditionally assigned to mt, lk, mk luke - paul: mark was not a disciple. Doubt that philemon would be forged because it"s mundane. Mentions luke, but other people too so luke not particularly notable. Authorship not paul: colossians (scholars are 50/50 split, timothy (50+) Timothy references lk too: also mentions a mark, but not sure if same author of gospel of mk. 28:16 when we came into rome, paul was allowed to live by himself, with the soldier who was guarding him. Author writes as an eyewitness to paul. At time gospel written there were other gospels written. Writing to theophilus: 1st century high priest by name, a particular person, or a friend of god - no particular person. Said story is handed down to him: clarifying he is not an eyewitness.
