Women are seen as a problem if you are trying to live a life devoid of passion. The problem isn"t just that men can"t control their passions, but also that women are around tempting them. After prince has left palace, for 6 years he tries to figure out the answer. He travels around and learns from the teacher and masters their techniques. Despite this they don"t provide the final answer the buddha is looking for. He then tries extreme asceticism (extreme fasting)
