Adolescence is an event that happens to all people in n. america btwn childhood and adulthood. One article suggests that adolescence is basically a biological event w/ cultural influences. There"s a social component in how we understand adolescence. The category of teenagers is a large part the creation of marking forces in our society. Comes from a corporate urge for particular market that can be developed. The natural change from childhood to adulthood has been taken over by marketing strategies and our culture that wants to sell products to a demographic. The ways in that that is understood in our society. There is lots of money to be made in rebellion. There are obvious biological and psychological changes w/ the onset of adolescence, and influence a person"s attitude, personality, and ways of thinking. Our culture has an influence on how teens think about themselves. We are taught what we"re supposed to like.
