Move away from personal taste" idea: to adopt a sociological perspective here we must move away from personal taste and preference in the activities that we prefer. Used to stress the relationship between culture and class background: something we inherit. It is inherited and passed down from those we spend time with and family linkages. The values they teach us is where we learn speci c types of culture and speci c habits: something we exchange. For example, job interview class activity: something that is unequally distributed. It can be concentrated amongst higher classes rather than lower classes. They do not have the same access to learning about some forms of culture and then lack access to come opportunities. Invest airtime and effort to learn cultural and gain cultural capital.
