Fatalistic suicide is suicide that stems from too much regulation. Individuals in these circumstances may feel trapped as there are very little alternatives, so to feel untrapped they commit suicide. The hopelessness and oppression they face may encourage them to commit suicide. The division of labour must be seen as a social fact, It is a social fact because it shapes the organization of society and shapes the behaviour of individuals in society. Exists when the members of the society are bound together. He argued that there are 2 types of social solidarity. Is a type of solidarity that exists in early societies such as hunting and gathering societies. It is mechanical bc it operates analogously to a machine, in an automatic fashion. In these societies there is a small pop and low division of labour. The collective conscience refers to the totality of common beliefs and feeling among the members of society.
