Climate change and its impact (long term consequences) Changes: warming temperatures (thawing and rising sea levels), increase in tropical storms/hot extremes/heat waves and precipitation, oceans becoming more acidic. Policy measures to mitigate effect of climate change. Change lifestyles, behaviour patterns, and management practices. Bene ts would include improved health due to reduced air pollution and reduce emissions. Economic (putting capital investment in to slow down climate change, make economic sacri ce to protect planet) Women (tied to women"s socially constructed roles - not taught how to swim, climb trees, lack of access to vehicles, responsibility for caregiving, don"t always have control over emergency decision making in families, at risk of sexual violence) More women died - waiting for husbands to come back to house to tell them the emergency plan. Emergency shelters not built for women"s needs or their culture, only had one public toilet. Living in remote areas, women didn"t even hear about storm warning.
