At no other time in history, has there been as much variety, choice, and fluidity in different aspects of private life and close relations including relationship status, living arrangments, family structure, childbearing, parenting, sexaul orientation, sexuality and emoitional intimacy. Changes for young and older canadians ei. nonmarital childbearing, cohabitation, lat, divorce, living alone, non monogamy, In the 2st century there is greater fluidity on the lives of canadians as they change their life circumstances, living arrangements, family structure, intimate partnerships, and sexual relationships. Intersections between relationship status and living arrangements are more diverse. It is becoming more normative for people to experience more numerous intimate relationships, living arrangements, and family reconfiguration. Young adults are more likely to delay marriage, remain single, cohabit, have less children, be a step parents, pursue lgbtq relationships etc. Women are give birth unmarried, and are cohabiting. More likely to be in a living apart together (lat) couple.
