Structural funcionalism structural funcionalists say that inequality is funcional for society and that it serves a purpose and is necessary for society to run smoothly. Davis and moore they are the most well-known structural funcionalists who developed a theory around social inequality. Their theory is that inequality is not only inevitable but its is necessary for society to run well. Also, those jobs that are most important for society require a lot of hard work and training and thus they must be the most highly rewarded (e. g. inancially through high salaries). This allows for the atracion of ppl and retaining the most talented, hard-working ppl.
